Friend had one and had to replace the water pump which was a 928 part and cost about $300 in the 80s.Actually, the 1st 924’s had the Audi engine. Car is clean inside and out. Porsche designed & built their own engine for the 944 (“1/2” of the 928 8cyl)…Only the revived-production 924S from ’86-88 got the 944 engine that was basically half of a 928 V8, along with other updates from the 944 making it effectively a 944 with the 924’s narrower and lighter body and early dashboard.
