It's then revealed that Vincent left town after his mother died due to being unable to cope with her passing and feeling trapped in their small town. JC learns that Darryl and his friends are responsible and retaliates by pouring bleach into his truck's fuel tank.
The story sounds a helluva lot better on paper than how Shultz constructs it.
Came across this movie on Netflix and it gave off a Bonnie and Clyde impression, which as it turns out is not at all the way it went. After a night at the carnival with Kate and JC, Vincent and Roxxy embrace while slow dancing in her trailer which ultimately begins the start of their relationship. What a terrible B-movie and time waster. A stoic loner with a vintage muscle car (with thin echoes of “Drive,” complete with a synth-heavy score), Vincent had been on his way out of town once and for all, looking for a fresh start. Instead of grasping on to the story and themes at hand such as toxic masculinity or uncontrollable rage, Shultz gives a bare bones effort with a script that it is so poorly written, it felt like a first draft. 21 out of 37 found this helpful. However his stud, tough guy act is a pain to watch, he just seems to never fit the bill nor the part throughout the whole movie, the more I watched the more I wanted to unsee. Well made and directed. I think if Emile was paid by the word he is the highest paid actor in Hollywood ever. When he sees an angry black man, who will later be identified as Suga (Scott Mescudi), accosting a young woman named Roxxy (Zoe Kravitz) with a gun, he intervenes and eventually drives her to safety.
