Having first seen it in 4D in UAE complete with water spray and wind effects plus rocking seats, which ga s you a feeling of being on the rescue boat, the 2D version seemed tame, but a great story all the same. Pine is now Captain Kirk of a new age and it's hard to see him in something else and not think of that.

Incredible stormy sea footage plus some super, authentic 1950's land sets. Yes it reminds me of Titanic ALOT where we see 32 men trapped in the stormy weather with their destroyed boat and they have to try and get help to be rescued again.One half sinks but the other remains though it is in great danger. Would recommend buying. Extremely enjoyable film. No swearing, killing, etc. The small coastguard rescue boat goes out in really rough seas - the waves resemble small tsunamis and get to the ship. Heads up parents, this is worth watching with your kids. At last! You knew that they were going to make it but how they managed to rescue so many people and return to port as they did is almost unbelievable.
A winner in my book and comes highly recommended, it's from the same stable as the perfect storm, but this one wins through. Produced by Jim Whitaker and Dorothy Aufiero, the screenplay is by Oscar® nominee Scott Silver and Oscar nominees Paul Tamasy & Eric Johnson, based on the acclaimed non-fiction book of the same name by Casey Sherman and Michael J. Tougias. Loved this film. It showed some Americans in a positive view for a change, that there are some good Americans with great spirit. So will Bernie rescue them all. Presentation is a little old school, but the makers did a superb job of transporting me back to the 1950's and making me realise wht incredibly brave and intelligent people were involved in this incident. I presume that is to make the movie understandable to those that didn't serve in the CG. I had high hopes for this movie adaptation of the book, and have to say that Disney did not disappoint. I served in the US Coast Guard; and my last year was at two Surf Rescue Stations. Highly recommend This story started too slow and just didn't grab me. Thank you Disney, for telling our story.
