I found myself in a dilemma with wanting to give up on this one or control my frustration with how dragged out the story felt at times. I read BA Paris’s Bring Me Back in 2018 and rated it highly. I pretty much griped about the husband Adam, not making a necessary phone call and continually thinking he should do something but not doing it, on and on and on. I mean, she doesn't want her own daughter at the party because she knows something about her that paints her in a less than perfect light, and therefore would ruin her fun (how selfish is that?!). During the day, he hears some terrible news. Adam discovers some awful news that day, and battles between telling his wife the truth, or letting her enjoy a final few hours of happiness. Historically, her books have been thrillers, and this was more of a domestic drama. Once he made that call, he knew all hope could be gone. Whew, that was one frustrating, suspenseful race to the finish for me. And I don’t even like her books well except for Verity.

Everything is tied together brilliantly, and I was really satisfied with the ending.Overall, I highly recommend this book to all of you psychological thriller lovers out there, particularly those of you that enjoy family-based dramas. I wouldn't say any of her books are perfect and I realize she is not everyone's cup of tea, but an amazing reading experience always counts for something and that's why I'm placing this in the 5 star category. I truly believe that this book makes for a fantastic reading experience – it is a claustrophobic, skin-crawling family drama that will stay with you long after you read the final page.
