The strength of the Straight Outta Compton lies in the characters who are portrayed as flawed, yet determined young men who formed a powerful bond that's shattered by the lure of fame and brought back together by the realities of mortality. The movie is graced with a cast of brilliant new actors that not only look like their real life counterparts, but deliver performances so convincing you believe you're right back in that terrifying era of rap music where lyrics on wax had real life consequences. Straight Outta Compton is an epic bio-pic about the controversial pioneers of gangsta rap--N.W.A.

If you loved nwa but knew very little of their background, this movie will give it to you. Really glad I bought this as I found out quite a bit more about the group, the trials and tribulations they went through, backgrounds, alliances, enemies and basically the out and out struggle facing them and others to survive. Covering various events from NWAs formation, the Rodney King incident, the breakdown and in-fighting between band members and a very hard-hitting piece of cinematography covering Eazy E's battle with AIDs and the impact his death had on the other members of NWA.
